Multi game matches
Normally for a practice or social session, you play different players for each game.
If you prefer, though, you can play more than one game with each matchup.
Click the Settings icon, then choose “Preferences”, and there is a selector for “Sets per round”. A setting of 1 means that after each game the players will go back into the waiting pool to be picked in a different game. If you increase this to more than one, then as soon as the score is entered for the first game, a second will be picked with the same players.
If you choose more than 2, then the match will continue. It is “best of…”, so if you select 3, then if the same pair win the first two games, the match ends, but if it is 1-1, then the decider will be played.
In every other way, these are counted as normal games. Players will be considered due to play again based on the number of games, not the number of matches, and the results table is based on games not matches.
You can also edit or delete individual games as normal.
If you combine 3 sets per round with “Play Quick Games to 15” (also on the Preferences Menu), you have the new alternative 3×15 tournament scoring system. Note that the quick games to 15 used to have a limit of 17 points, but that is now 21 points as per the BWF Alternative Scoring.
