Picking Games Ahead

One new feature added – you can now choose to pick a game for the next free court, while all courts are in use

This is not active by default. On the config screen, there is a setting “Pick Ahead”, at zero. Increase that to 1 or more and you can pick that many games ahead of the previous games finishing.

When you enable this, you can pick the extra games as normal, but they will show without a court number, and you can not mark them as started until you have entered a score for one of the games in progress.

When you do mark them as started, the court number will show.

If you set “Pick Ahead” to 2 or more, you should be careful to start the games in the right order.

Note that the games will be picked from the players who are waiting. This means:

• You cannot pick the next game unless you have four players waiting
• If you have only four players waiting, you will not get good mixing of players – you will do better to wait for a game to finish and then pick from a wider choice
• This is a way to avoid players who have just finished a game immediately going back on. (There will probably be another change later in August to stop this happening anyway)

Editing Games

If you don’t like the game that has been picked, there are several ways to change it

• Use the “reload” button and vsBadminton will make a different choice
• Use the “rotate” button to use the same four players but in different partnerships
• Select a player and choose a different player to replace them
• Select a player and click “pick without this player” to make a new game choice excluding one player

In the latest release, a game that has been modified in any of these ways will be marked with a “*”
