Club Player Export

There is a small addition to the Results page - in addition to the tournament results and player table for the day, you can now get a table that lists all players in the club, along with the date that they last played, and their rating as vsBadminton estimates it.

This is intended as a resource for club organisers.

We would caution users: the ratings calculated for players are intended only to help the algorithms that pick games. It is probably not a good idea to use them as explicit competitive goals. A player might very reasonably complain that they are being unfairly rated based on the games they have been picked to play in. A real competitive rating system would need a much more sophisticated way of controlling for the level of partner strength in doubles games.

Nonetheless, if a club organiser wants a quick reminder of who the strong players in the club are, this should help. Assuming the top 8 on the list are the 8 best players would be unwise and potentially unfair.

This data is not available in the public results tables produced by the “share” option, only to club admins who are logged into vsBadminton.
