More Scoring Options
By default, vsBadminton prompts for scores according to the standard rules of Badminton: the game ends when one side gets 21 points, provided they are at least two points ahead. If no side is two points ahead, play continues, until one side either gets two points ahead or reaches 30 points.
There is an option in the Preferences screen for “quick games” - that changes to the proposed new scoring rules, where games are to 15 points, still with a “two clear points” rule, and a limit of 21 points.
In the latest vsBadminton release there is a new option on the Preferences screen: “Two clear points”, which is checked by default. If you uncheck this box the two clear points rule will not apply, and the results screen will offer the score “21-20”, and not “22-20” or higher. Or, if the “quick games” option is checked, then “15-14” will be the highest result.
Predicted scores shown on games, and in the results table, will be adjusted to the mode.
It is possible to change the scoring mode during a session, and end up with a mixture of games with different scoring modes. However, predictions will be shown according to the mode at the time you look at them, not necessarily the mode when the game was finished.
