Sharing

Once you have set up a session, you can let other players use it with you.

(It is not necessary for every player to use the app, and it is not necessary that the person using the app be playing. But multiple users can pick games, enter scores, etc. and that is sometimes convenient).

Access Codes

When you created your session, a 6-digit access code was generated. Other people can use this code to access the session

If you don’t remember the code, you can click the globe button to go back to the sessions screen. Click ‘Join an existing session’, then pick the session you are in, and the code will be displayed. Click ‘Play’ again to go back to the players and games.

Using an Access Code

The other user who wants to access your session should click

  • Join an existing session
  • Use an Access Code

They can then type in the 6-digit code you give them, and they will get access to the same players and games.

They do not need to be logged in.

QR Code

As an alternative to using the 6-digit code, you can display a QR code on the screen. Other users can scan the QR code to get access to the session.

Permissions

Initially they will have “normal” permissions - they can modify players’ statuses, pick games, and enter scores. They cannot generate future sessions, or get the access code again.

You can change permissions - go back to the session and click “View Users”. Pick the user (if they have not logged in, they will be assigned a random user number), and you can change them to “Viewer Only” mode, where they can’t change anything, or to “Player Edit Access” mode, where they can add and edit players, or to “Admin” mode, where they have the same permissions as you do.

You can also switch their permissions from “temporary” to “permanent”. If they are “permanent”, they will apply also to future sessions for the same club. If they are “temporary”, they are only for this session.

For the “permanent” permission to be useful, the other user will need to be registered as a user.

Note the access code will be different for each new session.

From the Playing screens

When you are in the playing screens, use the globe button to go back to the session screens, so that you can see the Access Code and the Users

Logging in

Like the session owner, other users can create an account with user and password and maybe an email and log in if they want. If they are just sharing a session it is fine to skip all that.

If they have access to a session by entering a code or scanning a QR code, and they then log in with a password, or register as a new user, then they will keep the access they got with the code, and that access will be attached to them.
